Vietnam-Japan Business Collaboration in Energy Efficiency and Conservation

On the morning of March 5 in Hanoi, as part of the “Project on Exploring the Potential Application of Energy-Saving Solutions by Japanese Enterprises in Vietnam” sponsored by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), the Mitsubishi Research Institute, Inc. (MRI), in collaboration with the Green Development Center (GreenDC), organized a “Business Networking Workshop between Vietnamese and Japanese Enterprises in the Field of Energy Efficiency and Conservation.”

Vietnam–Japan Business Networking Workshop on Energy Efficiency and Conservation

In the context of the growing importance of the energy and environmental sectors in driving sustainable operations and development, energy efficiency has become a pressing global issue that is receiving increasing attention from countries around the world. In particular, Japan has developed and widely implemented many advanced technologies, aiming to realize sustainable development goals through various programs that promote sharing these innovations globally.

The workshop brought together nearly 70 businesses on-site and more than 50 participating virtually, representing a wide range of industries and sectors.

Ms. Yoshiko Yurugi, Director of the Energy Conservation Department at NEDO, delivered the opening remarks.

As part of the workshop, five Japanese companies showcased their energy-saving solutions, followed by dedicated networking sessions that facilitated connections with Vietnamese businesses interested in these technologies. The participating Japanese companies included:

  • Innovative Designs & Technology Inc. introduced its Electro Life device—an electrolysis-based solution designed to eliminate scale buildup in recirculating water systems, particularly in cooling equipment such as chiller cooling towers… This innovative technology proved highly relevant and attracted significant interest from businesses across various sectors, including food processing, seafood processing, textiles, alcoholic beverages, steel manufacturing, and electronic components…

  • Miracool Co., Ltd. presented a heat-insulating paint solution applicable to buildings, road surfaces, and industrial equipment, with compatibility across a wide range of materials. The solution sparked active discussions with businesses from sectors such as brewing, food processing, and building management…

  • Metro Denki Kogyo Co., Ltd. showcased its Orange Heat device—an infrared carbon fiber heating lamp designed to heat products and equipment efficiently. The solution drew interest from businesses in the textile, food processing, brewing, and electronic component industries, with many eager to explore its potential for their operations.

  • Z Engineering Co., Ltd. presented Steam Z, a high-durability steam trap solution featuring a pinhole discharge system, specifically designed for industrial boilers. The networking sessions successfully connected this solution with businesses in sectors such as food processing, seafood processing, electronic components, brewing, and beverages.
