| The training program “Scaling Up Energy Efficiency for Leaders of the Seafood Industry Enterprise” is part of Component 2: Technical Assistance of the Vietnam Scaling Up Energy Efficiency Project (VSUEE). Component 2 aims to provide technical support to strengthen the capacity of project stakeholders, develop and refine policy frameworks and implementation guidelines, and support energy-saving activities, greenhouse gas emission reductions, and climate change adaptation efforts. |
The training was delivered by instructors from technical universities, energy efficiency experts from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and specialists from both domestic and international energy efficiency projects. The session on April 22, 2025, gathered participants who are leaders from enterprises in the seafood sector. As part of the broader training initiative, six additional sessions will be held, each based on a curriculum tailored to the specific needs and practical applications of the following industries: Textiles, Paper and Pulp, Ceramics, Steel, Cement, and Plastics.

The participants were business leaders from the seafood industry.
Through the training program, the project aims to raise awareness among industrial business leaders that energy efficiency is not only a legal compliance requirement but also an investment opportunity that can generate returns and enhance competitiveness. By equipping leaders with technical and financial knowledge related to energy efficiency projects, they can make faster and more effective decisions, thereby selecting appropriate and feasible technological solutions for their businesses.
In addition, understanding support mechanisms, credit guarantees, and financial incentives enables business leaders to proactively access green financing sources and improve their ability to persuade financial institutions or investors. Active leadership involvement also helps drive a shift in corporate culture, making energy efficiency a core component of the company’s sustainable development strategy. Competent leadership facilitates more effective coordination with internal departments as well as external partners such as technical consultants, banks, and solution providers. As a result, businesses can implement energy efficiency projects in a more comprehensive, structured, and effective manner.
